A day of Thanks

Yes, of course, Today was one of my favorite holidays. Thanksgiving. I love thanksgiving because my whole family gets together and unlike Christmas they don’t expect anything. Just a day of love and laughter and joy. Most years anyway. Luckily for me, this year went my way and and was full of all of the above.

I had my whole family together today. And by that I mean all my kids in one spot at the same time. See, my husband and I both had children from another marriage and when we came together we truly became one. I brought two little rug rat boys to the family and he brought two beautiful girls and a handsome boy. Years ago they were all young, with the exception of Lindsay who is his oldest daughter and was 18 when we got together and already lived on her own, so it was easy to spend quality family time together. Now all but one is a teenage. Three have jobs, the other two have friends so even though we see all the children it is rarely together for any extended period of time. So today was quite special for me and truly something I am thankful for. I’m using the mobile app so if I can figure out how to post pictures on this post I will. I love my kids. Every one of them.

I also got to see my extended family which is a treat for me as well. My mom, step dad, step brothers, grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles. Its so fun when we get everyone in the same room. Jokes are told and people are made fun of playfully, hugs are given and a few friendly wrestling matches usually break out.

This year I have so much to be thankful for. We have our health with has been challenged a time or two. We have a home and jobs and money for what we need even if it isn’t enough for all we want. We have each other. I hope my kids know that no matter what I am here for them and will do anything I can for them .We have great friends and great family and hell, we just have a wonderful life.

I am going to end this post because truthful I could talk about my family all day but I won’t. Today, I’m thankful for it all.
